The Petrifilm set is a complete set for determining the total aerobic colony count in liquids. The set can be used directly and there is no special bacteriological laboratory needed for performing the tests.

The set consists of Petrifilms, sterile disposable pipettes and sample pots. When ordering the first set a special so-called "spreader" will include. This spreader can be re-used. Please indicate on your order if you require this spreader.

The test can be performed on all samples that are more or less neutral, this means no chlorine, oxygen, excessive alkalinity or acidity present. The pH value must be neutral (6-8). Samples that can be examined are e.g. tap water, industrial water, water from ground sources, recycled water, water from the final rinse after dehydration press of centrifuges etc.

Samples from the final rinse have to be checked previously and separately for presence of chlorine or active oxygen and a neutral pH-value.

The Petrifilms have to be stored in a well-closed package in a cool environment (approx. 5degC, refrigerator). Expiration date is marked on the package. If the colour of the Petrifilm is changed (from yellow to brownish) it cannot be used any more. Normally the Petrifilm can be stored at least 1/2 year up to 1 year.

• 50 Petrifilms

• 25 sterile, disposable pipettes

• 25 sterile, disposable sampling pots

• optionally a "spreader" (only first time)

• instructions for use

You will need an incubator to incubate the Petrifilm. This is also in our delivery program.
